The ECB Governing Council, in its meeting on June 21, 2022, launched the expected anti-spread instrument aimed at countering unjustified differences in the financing costs of the eurozone states. It was called the Transmission Protection Instrument (TPI) to immediately point out the underlying reason, which is to ensure a correct transmission of its monetary policy, protecting it from distorting market dynamics.
