OBSERVATORY ON POLICY, INDUSTRY, EUROPE

The Observatory on Policy, Industry, Europe (PIE) is dedicated to the analysis and evaluation of industrial and public policies in Europe. Its approach is based on applied political-economic research, aimed at understanding and addressing the concrete challenges that institutions, industry, and society face in a context marked by profound transformation.

The Observatory’s activities focus on the need for knowledge and strategic analysis in a phase of deep change in the relationship between the public and private economy, between European institutions and the rest of the world, and among the Member States of the Union.
In line with its mission, PIE curates and co-supervises, together with LEAP, the European Industrial Policy Monitor: a monthly English-language tool for monitoring and analysing the evolution of European and national industrial policies, promoting an integrated understanding of ongoing processes.

Through studies, research projects and dialogue initiatives, PIE promotes collaboration among academia, industry and institutions, contributing to an informed debate on innovation, competitiveness and sustainability. Its analyses provide instruments to support public decision-making and institutional and industrial strategies, with the goal of strengthening European governance capacity. In close collaboration with the other divisions of the Centre for European Analysis and Policy, and through partnerships, publications and ongoing exchanges, the Observatory contributes to building a stable space for dialogue between the productive sector and academic research, fostering a policy culture grounded in data, evidence and a shared European vision.
